Gearbox upgrade scheme

Second phase of our previous post, the demolition and upgrading of existing gearbox foundations, lifting gantries and lifting frame to accommodate larger gearbox and motor.

The Priory team cut the existing reinforced plinth using a track/diamond saw to limit impact upon sub-surface pile cap.

Diamond cutting was followed by demolition, diamond coring across fixator locations, shuttering and pouring of new high strength gearbox foundations. Fixators were secured with marine grade epoxy grouting compound following gearbox installation.

A big thanks to PES Metrology who assisted in setting out our fixator locations to sub-millimetre accuracy, and also to Dollcast for their fabrication services.

If Priory can assist with any of your civil, structural or project requirements, please get in touch.
